Fiber Art

I created “Thoughts of Home” in 1992 while I was living in Dallas, TX with my husband and children and missing Massachusetts where I grew up.  The jumping trout represents my father who taught me how to fish.   The shore birds are for my mother who was an avid bird watcher.  The blue jay in his nest is in honor of my brother Jay, who died young.  The swirling clouds are from Hurricane Bob which we got to experience up close in August of 1991.

Handpainted silk, painted with dye with wax and gutta  resists by Sally Dillon , hand quilted by Ruth Anderson, Dallas, TX.
