I made the “Memory Quilt” for my husband David Dillon for our 25th anniversary in 1995.  Each square represents some place, event or memory that we shared.  Many of the images are from our travels in the West: mesas, petroglyphs and cactus. Others are details from trips to the sea, from the Galapagos to the Caribbean, and from Mexico to Maine.  There are some moments of pure joy: the eclipse of the moon reflected in a puddle, the oar just before it hits the water and beautiful flowers from David.

The hand quilting was done by Sally Weymouth, Bailey Island, ME
